Context

Located near Barrerias, Brazil, the Oasis Agro-Eco project will provide 10,000 acres of agricultural land for sustainable farming and will be home to a community of 5,000 people. When completed, this central-Brazilian agricultural site aspires to compete with the region’s large-scale, industrial producers. Moreover, the community village aims to serve as an exemplar of sustainable development through the use of on-site solar power, waste recycling & composting, and ecological waste-water treatment.

Our Role

Level Infrastructure designed sustainable energy, water, waste, and transportation networks for this farming community. Levels efforts were supplemented by an internationally competitive bidding process to bring in a private sector energy service company to design, build, own, and operate a 2MW solar field to supply 100% of the village’s power.
